ONLINE CLASS • DISCOUNT PRICING PACKAGES AVAILABLE ON REGISTRATION Have you ever been curious about the tarot? Or, maybe you know something about the cards but doing readings for yourself seems daunting? Or, perhaps you are a regular imbiber and want to try something different and go deeper. During Teatime Tarot I show how to do a four card reading using the SoulPages method of art journaling. Expect each session to give you insights into a different aspect of your life. * Learn methods to connect the cards using color, line, and image * Experiment with art journaling techniques that elicit magical coincidences * Try new self-reflective exercises to tease further meaning from the cards I want to give you tools for moving forward with a new perspective about your path. No experience with the tarot, with art, or art journaling required. The focus is on the process of working with the cards more than the final outcome. I encourage participants to let their intuitive self be in charge, to enjoy working with the materials, and be self-forgiving. There is no such thing as a mistake! Some basic materials are needed (recommendations given upon signup). I use a lined composition notebook (I don't want the process to get too precious!). To give the pages a bit of body I adhere two pages together using a glue stick (not all are created equal, recommendations given upon signup). Then I use some white gesso to lightly cover a two page spread (video demonstration available on sign up). I'll do a bunch of pages at a time up to this point, so I'm ready to go when it's time to do a reading. I'm using the Waite-Smith tarot. So, I have photocopied images of the cards in a couple different sizes both in color and in black and white on regular copy paper (they are in the public domain, pdf available upon sign up). My favorite mediums for adding color include alcohol markers, acrylic markers, and gel pens. Other materials can definitely be used. Though, I lean towards materials that dry quickly and can be layered. Each month starts with "Me in the World," a layout designed to answer the question: How do I best move in the world this month? Further weeks include readings such as: "Me, Myself, and I" (What unconscious forces are seeking to come into my awareness?); "Me and Significant Others" (How do I improve--understand, change--the dynamics of this relationship?); "Me in Community" (What do I have to offer? How can I connect?); "Stuck" (How do I get unstuck?).
